About EverStar

At EverStar Academy of Discovery, our mission is simple yet powerful:

Growing Together Through Discovery. We believe in building strong partnerships with families through open communication, nurturing creativity and confidence by ensuring every child is seen and heard, and inspiring a lifelong love for learning through meaningful experiences that spark curiosity.

“To make a lovable school, industrious, inventive, liveable, documentable and communicable, a place of research, learning, re-cognition and reflection, where children, teachers and families feel well - is our point of arrival.”

Our Values

“Education is a right of all, of all children, and as such is a responsibility of the community. Education is an opportunity for the growth and emancipation of the individual and the collective; it is a resource for gaining knowledge and for learning to live together; it is a meeting place where freedom, democracy, and solidarity are practiced and where the value of peace is promoted. Within the plurality of cultural, ideological, political, and religious conceptions, education lives by listening, dialogue and participation; it is based on mutual respect, valuing the diversity of identititIes, competencies, and knowledge held by each individual and is therefore qualified as secular and open to exchange and cooperation.”

From “Indications, Preschools and Infant-Toddler Centres of the Municipality of Reggio Emilia”, 1.1 Education is a right, (2009)

Hundred Languages

“No way. The hundred is there.

The child
is made of one hundred.
The child has
a hundred languages
a hundred hands
a hundred thoughts
a hundred ways of thinking
of playing, of speaking.

A hundred always a hundred
ways of listening
of marveling, of loving
a hundred joys
for singing and understanding
a hundred worlds
to discover
a hundred worlds
to invent
a hundred worlds
to dream.

The child has
a hundred languages
(and a hundred hundred hundred more)
but they steal ninety-nine.
The school and the culture
separate the head from the body.
They tell the child:
to think without hands
to do without head
to listen and not to speak
to understand without joy
to love and to marvel
only at Easter and at Christmas.

They tell the child:
to discover the world already there
and of the hundred
they steal ninety-nine.

They tell the child:
that work and play
reality and fantasy
science and imagination
sky and earth
reason and dream
are things
that do not belong together.

And thus they tell the child
that the hundred is not there.
The child says:
No way. The hundred is there.”
